Price guess in Canada.
Well, while I am waiting for the price to be announced, I thought I would try to do some calculations with some figures gleaned off the Chevrolet Canada website in the build section.
First, I decided to compare the Caddy CTS to the CTSV. The base price of a CTS is $42,240.00. Base price of a CTS-V is $72,720.00 for a difference of $30,480.00.
So, If you take the base price on a 2LT Camaro of 30,480, and add the difference you come up with $63,115.00.
The second comparison I did involved taking a base price of a 2SS of $44,100.00, and add options from the Corvette and Camaro option list such as magnetic suspension ($2900.00), Performance brake package (575.00), dual mode exhaust (1,555.00), Performance wheel/tire combo (2500.00),
ground effects (1895.00), RS package (1,380.00), short shifter (440.00), interior stitching (455.00), spoiler (760.00) I come up with 56,559. Now this total does not include the LSA supercharged engine upgrade, gauges,or hood, all of which I could not find applicable pricing.
To be safe, I figure the engine upgrade for at least 7,000.00, and the aluminum/carbon hood for 1500.00. The gauges 380.00. Don't ask me where I got these prices they just seem reasonable to me. So this way the total comes to $65,439.00.
Taking the two above prices and averaging them I come up with an approximation of $64,277 Canadian for a 2012 ZL1.
For our neighbors to the south, This would be roughly $58,000 to $60,000 depending on any dollar exchange fluctuations.
So my predictions are $64000.00 CDN or $59000.00 US.
