Well, the poll is about even between fine & not so great, with very few excellent - that direction would be my guess.
I think the color problem for ZL1 is that it's not just any car, it's THE car we have always wanted. We Camaro lovers have a fantasy car built up in our minds, and a significant part of the fantasy is the way it looks- including the color.
For example, I don't care that there's already an IBM, I really want Dusk Blue.
Hey, you could get it way back when Camaro was born.
There's your heritage color.
So, only those that are getting exactly the color they want are going to say "excellent."
Also, the lack of super bold colors leaves the selections lacking a bit I think. The new red is awesome, but ZL1 needs one or two more "in your face" metallics like that. Changing the flat yellow to "Bumblebee Sunrise Gold" or something very similar would have taken care of most of that angst.
BTW, Inferno Orange is also "in your face" but it's still in the red family. Red has three versions and is very well represented.
Do the same for blue & change the yellow and almost everybody is happy.
No extra charge for my two cents.
