So I spoke to the service manager at Starling today regarding what they did to finally "fix" my roof. Here's what I was told:

The top was incorrectly installed by the trim shop (can't entirely blame then as they were given a top in a box and a 4 month old car with no directions nor experience...) They basically had to remove the top and reinstall it, correctly. Something wasn't attached properly Which resulted in the sides blowing out as depicted in the OP. Also, the cables weren't tight enough. The attachment process and cables resulted in the excess wind noise. He said after the repair, my car was quieter than the 3 new on the lot!

In addition, he said they reworked the top brackets causing the rub marks and removed the rediculous tape that was applied last time. Supposedly they put some other insulation somewhere, it didn't jump out to me, so I don't know exactly what/where they did this. I definitely see more of a gap in the headliner bracket, leading me to believe they moved those brackets in more as well. All I know, is no rub marks yet!

The service manager has to do a detailed report on the problems and resolutions for GM, since they requested engineers to work on it. They said they'd send me a copy as well. If it looks helpful, I'll scan it and post it as well.
