TPMS relearn tool
Has anyone actually used a TPMS relearn tool, where did you get it and how much was it?
I've searched this site and the internet. I know the older cars you could "relearn" by dropping tire pressures, but that does not work on the newer cars. I know there is supposed to be a GM tool for $40 - $60 for this, sometimes called out by part # EL-50448, but that part doesn't seem to exist within GM. If you search online it will show an aftermarket tool, but I want to know if anyone has actually used one successfully. The dealer claims there isn't anything they can sell me, obviously they have their own tools to do it, but they are expensive and not GM products.
I know the dealer will do it for me for free, but I'd like to at least be able to change my tires myself without a trip to the dealer - even just for the 2 minutes to reset TPMS.
SO - have any of you done it with a tool and not the tire pressure method?
