The problem here is twofold as I see it.
First, we don't know what changes are going to appear on the 2013 GT500, but among them are rumored to be fairly significant changes in suspension and tires including much wider rubber and a good deal more power.
Second, none of that matters, because the truth is that anybody who buys either of these cars for what will almost certainly be a minor performance advantage over the other has too much disposable income and time on their hands. Can you tell me which was faster through the 1/4 mile, an 71 Camaro SS LT-1 or a 71 Boss 351? How about a 70 429SCJ Torino or a 70 LS6 Chevelle? If you knew that, stock for stock, the Boss 351 could outrun the SS LT-1, would you somehow find the LT-1 Camaro less desirable than you did before you knew that?
Buy a ZL1 because it pushes your buttons, not because it has (or doesn't) the lowest numbers on the spec sheet sidebar in the latest comparison.
