While I agree with the essence of the article I think this is a necessary evil/byproduct of evolution. Agreed that technology tends to make people useless but at the same time I also can't deny the fact that human error is typically always going to be far greater than machine failures from a statistical standpoint. Failure of an automated system is of course always a possibility however if you look at the odds of a human making a mistake versus a system failure I think the stats would always be in favour of the automated system.

But I complete get your point on the automation tends to render humans useless argument. However I think its just an evil that we have to accept if we want to evolve.
