I went to LSU. Graduated in 2008 before I had my Camaro. Went back to grad school for a couple semesters when I had my Camaro, so I have some pretty decent insight on this.

If you're going to live in the dorms, absolutely do not do it. Dorm parking is horrible. You will never be able to choose a "safe" spot. You can only take what is there, and hope there is something there, period. If you live on the east side of campus and you leave in the middle of the day, you may have to park on the west side of campus when you get back. In the evening, it's not as bad.

If you commute, you can pick safe spots if you don't mind walking ~10-20 minutes to get to class (depending on where your classes are, of course). The back of the lot by CEBA/Patrick F. Taylor hall is good. You can pick a corner spot where there's nothing on your passenger side and only a passenger door on your driver's side, and even then, you can park far enough over where that door could never hit your car. If you don't like parking far away, you're in trouble. The parking spots are a pretty tight squeeze. You will probably get dings and scratches unless you park far back and walk.

Don't let anyone scare you off with vandalism unless you're a d**k and/or prone to making enemies. It's LSU. There's muscle cars everywhere. Your Camaro isn't special on campus - there's tons of 'em, along with lots of Mustangs and Challengers.

By the way, good choice. I loved LSU. I miss it a lot.
