If you don't think you can afford it, then you can't simple as that. There is no shame in waiting till you can afford the car as long as you're comfortable with the payments. You can always buy a used car that someone "thought" they could afford or buy at the end of 2010 when dealers will be offering huge discounts on '10 MY cars.
