With colder weather approaching the south, this is more on my mind lately. Has there been any update to GM's status regarding recognition of a systemic issue or are we still being handled on a case by case basis?

In the event a service department recognizes an issue with a particular 6060 is the 2nd gear blocker ring the only item that must be replaced? Is that the only item they will replace?

Thanks again for your great work,
GM dealerships will only replace what is wrong/broken inside the transmission due to warranty claims. Customer bring in a car with trans issues, dealership makes the repairs with GM parts. That claim is submitted to GM warranty claims and that's how dealership gets reimbursed. If the dealership doesn't have all the ducks in a row, GM rejects the claim and the dealership has to eat the labor/parts.

I build these with what I know works but when you're faced with the dealership, they will be more worried about getting paid than repairing the actual car under warranty. When I used to work for GM, they wouldn't let me replace the parts with what I know fixes them. I could only use what was available through GM parts.

Short of GM issuing a recall on the TR6060's, I think it will be on a case by case basis.
