I build these with what I know works but when you're faced with the dealership, they will be more worried about getting paid than repairing the actual car under warranty. When I used to work for GM, they wouldn't let me replace the parts with what I know fixes them. I could only use what was available through GM parts.
Short of GM issuing a recall on the TR6060's, I think it will be on a case by case basis.

This is the reason why people like myself believe warranties aren't worth the paper their printed on. Replacing garbage with garbage doesn't resolve the issue regardless who's paying for it.
