Never say "never". Sometimes its a very good idea, even with a ZL1. You need to negotiate a good price first. Then if it has a good residual value and you get a good money factor "interest rate" you'll make a good lease deal.
The car will always be under warranty and when the next gen ZL1 or whatever comes out...you're not stuck with a car you may not want to keep. When the lease is over you can buy the car, or even sell it and put money in your pocket if you did your homework before you signed the lease.
Also you don't need GM to lease the car. There are private lease companies that will lease just about any car you desire.
