To compete with the higher end quarter mile, from a roll, and just overall top-end, they need pretty massive turbos usually, like GT35Rs, this type of car would be easy to spot with the huge front-mount intercooler, often hood-scoop delete, at that level many times running meth or nitrous. These monsters are often putting out 400awhp or more.

STI with exhaust and a tune? While it is a decent HP increase, more % wise than you'd get with a NA engine and would make you cry from a launch and pretty easily win around a track, it's not going to put it into realm of anything that's making near 400hp to the wheels.

STIs are tons of fun though, the way they claw to a turn and accelerate out of one puts a smile on your face. The gearing may suprise you if they catch it just right, but the number of shifts they have to make negates that.
