A lease makes sense for the reasons already stated and does not make sense for the reasons already stated. If you think leasing doesn't make sense for YOU then it probably doesn't. If you own your own business, the payments on a leased car can often be written off as a business expense to a certain extent.
This is a good point... its not always good to lease american cars because of their high depreciation rate. This is why people lease BMW and Benz's because they usually have a high residual value at the end of the lease. In fact alot of american auto makers are phasing out leasing because its simploy not economically pheasable anymore
