75th... it was Pontiac's anniversary 1926-2001
The
Firebird's anniversary (35th) was the next (& last) model year in 2002, that pretty yellow Trans-Am with the hood stipes.
This edition was like a dealer requested package that they would either order from the factory equiped, or mod up a base model in house before putting it out on the lot. A few other Pontiac models came "75th" edition, like I think Grand-Am, Bonneville, & Grand-Prix... and all were basically like fully options loaded versions of those models, with special badging. As in the Firebirds case... it had
everything a Trans-Am had (dual exhaust, suspension, 10" wide wheels/tires, t-tops, leather, power everything) wrapped up in a Firebird body, with ground effects & chrome rims!!
