I have started a few threads in the Drag Racing section and in the Florida one but this really needs to be here since the track is in the "southeast".
I am planning on a setting a rental up in late January at SGMP and everyone is welcome to attend. You just can't be faster than me!
Ideally it will be on a Friday bc I'd like to stay and race the T & T on Saturday. Driving 40+ hours for one day is kinda crazy. Another option is that they will hold open the T & T for an extra 4 hours on sat if we wanted.
Price wise: For a rental on Friday, with track prep, both lanes, fire and ambulance, it's $2k for up to 20 cars. Then $75 for each car after that. I may be able to get him to do a little better when it comes down to the finalization but for now this is what I was told.
The 4 hour hold over is about $250 an hour.
Fridays in January are the 6th, 13th, 20th,27th
For Feb maybe the 10th. The Superbowl is 2/5 so that weekend is out.
I told the guy I would contact him after the 1st and firm things up with him and the GM of the track.
So it doesn't seem all that expensive and I'm sure it will be fun. Please post any additional ideas, thoughts, plans, and shit you may want to say.
