Yeah definitely just give your homeowners and auto insurance companies a quick call just to ask. Regardless of state law, they may have their own internal policies that supersede local laws just to keep you covered in all counts. Should only take a couple minutes to verify but it doesn't look like any info already provided here would be wrong.
