We are the first.

We have pre-ordered before sitting in the car. Some of us have never seen the car in person! I will warn you this may be a long post, but I promise no whining.

I was going to go date by date and chronicle my ordering of a 2SS/RS, but even I don't want to read through it. The long and short of it. I pre-ordered with deposit of $500 with MD dealership in September of 08 to get the first allocation and I had never seen the car in person. I was given a VIN (courtesy of this website #647!), the actual date according to my dealership (3/24 4:30pm) and an "in transit" event code. The event code happened three and a half weeks ago. I have been waiting for my car a whole 3 1/2 weeks minus a day or two. AWWWWWWW shucks. Some of us have been waiting 1 year (newbie) or 3 years since conception. You could even say the wait has been for 40 years to have everything you have ever wanted in a Camaro (HUD?).

I got a call tonight from my dealership and my car will not see the lot until the first week in May right around the time of the official release date. No information has been given to them. The dealership had to make the phone call. I bitched and moaned, the dealership bitched and moaned (no whining!). The V6s are coming out first. In my opinion GM doesn't want to make the mistake of marketing a car, putting it in in the best movie ever made and not having Bumblebee on the show room floor. I hope they take note on this launch for the Volt and I don't mean that complementary. Yes, I firmly believe this is a marketing thing and who can blame them.

First and foremost I am a taxpayer =)

So in honor of having one of the first 1,000 Camaros made; I am leaving this site never to lurk or post again until my car comes in of course. I just can't take it. If you have a VIN leave it be. Unplug. It will be here. I waited for my house to be built and it took almost two years while I lived in a dump that I could almost see through the ceiling. I waited for my PT Cruiser the first year they came out and I still love it. I can wait another two weeks.

My car will be perfect and I hope their are 50 of us at a red light.
