First, the ZL1 is going to be a great car. GM is doing what they do, which always seems to take longer than it should (although always in the spirit of making sure the car will be right and it will be). All of the little things going on are normal parts of any launch. Invariably things like the CF hood insert issue happen. No big deal in the grand scheme.
All that said, everybody with one of these on order needs to rationalize it to meet their wants and needs. I tend to agree with you. A lot of little turn offs. Just depends on why you are ordering. It's just a car. Do I need it? Heck no. Do I want it? Yes, I think I do. Will it be a great car, dispite the things are mention? Yes, I believe it will. Will I actually buy the car I have ordered? Not sure yet... Time will tell. I'm going to wait until the last minute to decide. I'm not consumed by it. Most of us will have far more important decisions to make in our life time.
In the meantime, for me, I feel pretty fortunate to be able to wrestle with this decision. It's all good.
