oh, yeah, i dont think the camaro has inferior brembos.
it is a heavier car by about 500 pounds, and it stops about 3 feet shorter in 60-0

i i know its not a huge difference, but for sure not the sign the camaro has inferior brakes.
the nismo Z does match the camaros 109 60-0. but, it does still weigh 500 less, and cost about 8k more.
anyway, as for rust, i have drilled and sloted brakes, and they do not rust. they are Zinc coated.
