Quite a few cars/ trucks are pushing around 15psi right off the show room floor and some of them like the 14 psi WRX's dont even have forged internals. The GT500 has a hand built forged 5.8L with a larger 2.3L TVS supercharger and the older 5.4 stock bottom ends can easily be taken to 21psi+ 1,000hp and 8 second 1/4's where as the LSA is stuck at low boost due to its fragile design and hypereutectic pistons. They are 2 completely different types of engines especially when you consider the 5.8L's ability to make 650hp at 6,250rpm and 670hp at 7,000rpm, its gonna pull like an exotic on the top end. The LS9 is a better comparison because its hand built and forged high revving engine can handle the addition boost and abuse a larger twin screw blower like a 3.4L Whipple or 3.6L Kenne Bell. If they would of put the LS9 in the ZL1 and the 2013 GT500 never was released I would seriously be looking to find a dealer to take my 2011 GT500 on trade.

I'm now just thinking about waiting to see what the new gen 2015 GT500 will be, hopefully with IRS, Ti-VCT, DI, e85 before I get a archaic 13-14.
