Going to the dealer is out of the question for me right now
Anyone know if this is a known issue or have experienced this yourself and found out what it was?
The car runs good, and there's no CEL, and the parameters look good.

Well....I have had ths happen twice...
1) Week before my engine blew up, my guess it was the oil burning up. At the time no one could trace. I could smell it in the passenger compartment and the engine bay.
2) After picking up the rebuilt car, I was driving back to CLT from up north and ran over some plastic grocery bags, one of them got caught in the CAT and kept burning up until this weekend. I think almost all of it is gone. I could smell it in the passenger compartment and the engine bay and this time as soon as I would step out of the car.
If you can smell the burning smell when you step outside of the car, I would check directly underneath the passenger compartment to see if anything is caught underneath.
If you only smell it in the engine bay....well cross your fingers
