But that doesn't mean your engine can't run hot if your driving aggressively or in stop and go traffic, especially in warmer weather. A CAI really isn't designed to keep your engine cool. Its just bringing cooler air into the engines intake producing more HP. Your engine can still run hot or over heat if its not running properly or driven very aggressively (hot lapping it at the track for example).

Some guys have their engine fan set to come on at a lower temp and that can help cool the engine. Also make sure you have proper coolant levels.
