I'd go with some Blizzak's for winter.

I DD my car with 500+ HP and 4.10 gears and no issue. We just got slammed in Chicago with 5-6 inches and single digit temps. No major issues.

Summer tires in winter is a very bad idea. They will harden in cold temps and will basically become a slick with zero traction. If you cannot afford winter tires, at least try and get some all season tires which will offer better traction in winter.
