Since we haven't had any dealer updates lately, I decided to check out myblocal service dept today. Keep in mind, this is the original.dealership who documented my marks last Mar/April, but never serviced my car since...

I was directed immediately to the service manager, who knew and acknowledged exactly what I was talking about (that alone was a breath of fresh air!) He said their is no fix yet, however GM is working on a redesign of the bow structure, which, once completed, will require a complete new top and mechanism to be installed on the effected cars. He recommended in the mean time, using a silicone spray on the rails to relieve some of the friction. He also went on to mention GM my very well be releasing this fix soon, to a "test group" to evaluate the fix before releasing it to all the dealerships.

I believe him to be about the most knowledgeable and sincere of the service personnel I've spoken to so far. If he's B.S.ing me, it worked; cuz i left their feeling somewhat relieved actually believing theyres light at the end of the tunnel!

He also said to keep an eye on the Camaro forums, because chances are someone from wherever the test group ends up will post on there (here ) before his service dept finds out.
