There are two reasons that the Mustang sells so well and you see so many women in them. Most young drivers like the v6 models and yes the v6 generally appeals to women - and women LIKE the mustang. There was a survey done around the time that they "cancelled" the camaro - and it was clear that the mustang was a far more popular car than the Camaro.

V6 sales drive the car. The v8 is higher priced and less people are likely to buy it. As such, if no one buys the v6, the v8 costs too much to produce and it hurts the bottom line of the vehicle. You have to have v6 sales to keep the v8 alive. It's just a matter of fact. More v6 mustangs are sold than v8 mustangs, and thats what lets Ford do all their "Special Vehicle" options and whatnot - because the car sells so well to women drivers and the younger crowd, the v6 being the driving force behind the sales - the v8 enjoys a happy restful spot and can be purchased by anyone that wants it.

I PRAY that the v6 Camaro is as popular with women as the mustang currently is or the new Camaro line might be very short-lived...
