I myself don't notice AFM kicking in or out either as far as noise with the exhaust. I can feel the hesitation plus feeling the transmission kicking down a gear or two, but as for as exhaust sound I don't hear it. I have been using Sports Mode all the time and then I don't feel AFM at all.

Yeah, I can confirm that AFM is definitely on in Sport mode. I did a muffler delete with 500 miles on my car. AFM switching is definitely happening in both Drive and Sport - can't miss the sound change at all.

Haven't messed around much with Manual mode to see if I can disable it.
