Remeber it takes a lot less cars to fill up a truck carrier than it does fill up a whole railcar. Some destinations just won't have the volume to fill up a railcar. This is why we are seeing them "batch" the VIN numbers by destination so much. They will produce a big group of Texas (or MN, CA, IL, etc...) cars on one day to fill up the rail car. Are they being shipped on tri-levels?
Another thing... it costs a lot less diesel fuel to haul a train full of cars across the country than it would to send 50 trucks to a destination. And the rail cars provide protection from the elements.
