I wouldn't if I were you. If, due to your age or poor driving record, you register the vehicle in your mother's name, you better hope you don't get in an accident. I did work for insurance companies as a P.I., and they will investigate who normally drives the vehicle. If they find out your mom falsely insured the vehicle for you to save money, they will likely void your insurance coverage.
