But yes, up to this point, Franchise laws prohibited us from just terminating a dealership...........

I've read and heard from dealers that GM and the govt. have worked alot of this out already, and the dealers will basically remain powerless to fight it no matter what laws are on the books - which, it sounds to me that since the mighty lawyers have been on this case since January, they have found every little loop hole in those existing franchise laws that GM will succeed in doing this whether or not they go through bankruptcy, and the dealers will have no course to file suit against GM because they are approaching the situation under the laws that exist.
Let me be very clear: I hate to see people loose their jobs and small business get closed up and yanked out from under by big business..... but customer service and positive product representation is so vital for GM now more than it ever was, and any dealer, no matter who they are or how long they've been in business, or where they are located, that those who do not meet the most demanding, highest level of customer satisfaction GM cannot afford to keep associating with them.
