You will never have a problem if you stick with what was designed for the car.
PF48, oil the gasket, tighten 3/4 turn past gasket contact. Those directions are on the box and the filter.
Do other brands use different gasket material, different durometer rubber, coat the rubber gasket in silicone...? Variation in all that stuff changes exactly how tight it should be. Stick with the PF48 and you will always know it should be exactly 3/4 turn, and will never come off.
The UPF-R is waste of money unless you have a Z06/ZR1. The LS3/L99's oil pressure is perfect for the PF48 with 5X burst margin. The LS7/9 has a pump that can spike huge pressure when cold, so to get that 5X burst margin the UPF has a much thicker canister. Identical guts. If you don't need that thick canister you just paid about 3Xs too much for the filter.
