budget really. we've spent too much on this setup IMO. for all the expenses combined, to me, there's not much showing for it. but I like crazy setups too.
as for the edelbrock stuff, the intake manifold and MSD box had just come into the scene after we had pulled the motor apart for the rebuild. and instead of spending another thousand or more for the pcm, wiring harness, injectors, rails, new fuel pump, etc. Josh showed me this setup and it was only like $650.00 for the intake and MSD box. there's another version out there now, this one uses chips to "tune" it for different cam specs. the newer version actually has a hook up so that you can do live tuning on it.
the carb was just a spare one I had sitting around. I would have preferred to go with a holley (more tuneability IMO), but we had the Eddie and money was some what of a concern, so we used it. we are going to go with this combo for a little while. after the summer we are replacing the rear end with a Strange S60. after I blow up the stocker that is.
then the plan is to move on and build an LSX 454.

This is what I'm starting to consider for my third gen. Make sure to keep me in the loop, I want to see this thing develop.

they are good for a lot of stuff for the top end of todays engines. some things are better/cheaper depending on where you go.
but if you want some more info about the build, let me know. ive got a few more pics and a detailed build plan for every thing.
