Well I think in some cases this is simply folks soooo convinced of their own skills and equally ignorant of the speed and capability of the technology that they prove it to them selves by pushing the button and complaining that they are forced to do so.
GMs algorithms are so good especially on the performance cars that you really have to on the edge to know they are even there and when and if you have the nannies invading you have a lot of other problems.
The nannies will never cause you a problem but will help you prevent one.
