As he is stepping out of his car to walk over to the Camaro - HIS new baby - an old two door 77 Impala pulls up next to the car on the passenger side and a 400 plus pound woman SLAMS her huge door right into the middle of the passenger door of the Camaro. Damn near caved it completely in. Dad was as crushed as the door was!
We ended up with: A new door, new ground effects all the way around (from a Z28) all gold striping removed and rust proofing (ALL the rage in '84 in Iowa!!). So, you are not alone.
The clincher on this one was after the body work was done - they "detailed" the car. There it was in the service bay when we went to pick it up again, this time away from any large women's doors. The shop guy walked by DIRECTLY in front of us and grabbed a shop rag out of his back pocked to wipe a water mark off of the hood...SCRATCHED a rainbow arch in the hood. Seems his rag was dirty. We managed to get that buffed out and never took the car there again. Feel better?
Good luck with your car.

Seriously, what is with people dinging (or destroying) people's doors? Is it THAT hard to control the door that you just have to fling it open every time?!

I've had my Focus for 2 years and I've gotten 4 dings (2 on each side) since I've been back in Iowa. Once I get my Camaro, she will always be parked in the back away from everyone else. Considering hiring a body guard too, sheesh.
