be one of the first to take the wheel of this truly modern performance car.
choose your trim level, options and

dealer to order your 2010 camaro
beginning october 13.
This is straight off of GM's website back in October. How does that not imply that Early Order Entry gets priority? It absolutely implies that if you order early you'll get your car early. I have no problem with the "one car per dealer" idea, but it has failed because most dealers didn't get theirs. You have dealers taking hefty deposits based on the previous statement by GM, then I find dealers taking delivery on 2SS cars that were ordered for their inventory and for sale to the public, while still holding the customer's deposit. I don't have a problem with it until dealers all over the country are still waiting for their one car, and others are selling 2SS cars to people off the street. I have a problem with it because I am going to end up with a 2SS before most of you who ordered before I did ever even get a date on yours, because I made a few random phone calls, and I'm flexible on color. I called around today, all over Mississippi. The following were my findings:
Brandon, MS: has one Yellow 2SS being shown for two hours this afternoon, then customer is taking delivery; no other cars, no "one per dealer" car. Considers today to be unveiling.
Jackson, MS: has one covered Black 2SS in showroom, belongs to manager, no other cars, said they were waiting for GM to call and give them permission to uncover it.
Vicksburg, MS: Said they don't have a car and that GM emailed them and told them the unveiling would be 5/11. They cancelled the big event they had scheduled for tonight at 6:27 pm CDT, which included a 68 coupe and 69 convt on the showroom floor next to the new car they didn't get. Does have a Black 2SS/RS in transit, apparently from Memphis, that they just took a deposit on yesterday.
Canton, MS: no car, said the closest one to look at was Hattiesburg.
Brookhaven, MS: have a black 2SS on the showroom floor, sold. No other cars
Louisville, MS: said GM put off the unveiling until the 16th of May
4 other North Mississippi Dealers: said the unveiling was postponed until the 16th.
THEN, one of the dealers, which is for me to know, called me back and offered to sell me a loaded 2SS/RS IOM @ MSRP, also in transit (from Memphis TN, which is just a few hours away, expected 5/8/09.
WILL I CANCEL MY ORDER PLACED 11/3/08? Absolutely! Will I ever trust GM any further than I could throw them? Absolutely not. This car is for my son, who for reasons I won't elaborate on, has earned it, and so I am a buyer. But GM will never grace my fleetyard at my company. Ethics.... it's more than a perception.
This is the complaint thread. I feel much better now..... :-)
