Once you swithched gearing did you re-tune your tranny or did you have someone else do it for you? I have HP tuners as well but have never tuned a transmission. Just curious. Thanks!
Ken, for me, the main benefit of the 3.45's over the 3.27's was that it made the torque converter feel tighter, and thus around town driving was better.

The 3.45's also help me go through the traps close to redline, rather than at the bottom of my power curve.

For a difference at the track, you want 3.73's, 3.91's or 4.10's. However, with more power, you'll be backing off that and going back to 3.45's as your trap speeds increase, so you're not shifting into 5th.

I did tune the tranny. I began with the Tuning School's $99 guide. Virtually no one likes it, because all it does is tell you (to some degree) "change this, change that" without saying "why". However, it's easy to catch on to the basics and figure out why, and then you can adjust according to your taste. Basically, you can adjust feel, pressure, and speed.

I found my mistake on the tranny tune from last weekend (dealing with torque converter lockup), so once I test it next time at the track I'll feel more comfortable.
