Agreed. We as general public cannot buy vehicles directly from GM, we have to purchase them through the dealer network. Therefore the dealers are a huge representative for GM ( or any other manufacturer ).
If the dealers are disrespecting the consumer ( us ), it does affect GM also as the dealer has discussed a potential buyer for a GM car and they may purchase from a different manufacturer.
These are tough financial times, both GM and the dealers both need to work hard to ensure the continued success by satisfying the buying public.
GM needs to keep a closer eye on the dealers to ensure they attract as many buyers as possible to keep sales up.
Personally the way I see it, if GM want's me to by their products, they need to ensure that I am able to buy them at a fair market price.
