My comments had nothing to do with OldTimer getting screwed. My post was a response to the Quote from another member that was included above my comments. I totally agree with everyone that the dealership he was working with should honor his agreement. My only point was that dealer premiums are something that happens to all cars that are highly desireable and in high demand and GM or any other manufacturer has no control how much dealer mark up their product.
No other point was intended except that as consumers we create the demand and dealers then do what they have always done......charge a premium for cars people want.
I was not trying to imply by any means that OldTimer was wrong or that he should pay the premium on the car he ordered. I was just saying he should not blame GM and stop buying their products because of a particular Chevy Dealer, just stoping doing business with Mack Haik Chevy and find a more reputable Chevy dealer to conduct his business with.
