I have had this happen a few times with big ticket purchases - the dealer/reseller didnt want to honor a price, or a warranty on a car or computer or some piece of equipment I purchased.

I write a few poison pen letters - the BBB (no big deal), state attoney general, my local, state and federal political reps and the manufacturers legal office (GM in Detroit), and then I copy the dealer/reseller on all the letters.

Each time, and usually within two weeks someone gets in touch with me from a few of these places, and takes care of it.

Even at $8K - which is a lot of money to any business, it's just not worth the hassel of legal time and the resources of all the management in these organizations involved, to take care of a mess like this.

The GM at the dealership probablly knows this, and you just have to make it clear that you will take it this far. It's BS that you have to do it, but it works. Its worked for me three separate times.

Don't give up on your car because some punk sales manager thinks he can cash in on this Camaro opportunity.
