Should you do sways with lowering coils? Sure, but before you do lowering coils you should address the foundational bushes -- Sub-frame and radius bushes. The rear sub-frame bushes on the C5 are NVH friendly at the expense of handling rubber. This leads to movement of the entire IRS assembly and rear end step out / rear end steering. The front radius bushes are NVH freindly fluid damped. The dynamic range of caster change with the OE radius bushes leads to a vague feel in the steering. When you lower you will notice this even more. At Pedders we offer inserts that work with the OE rubber bushes to ban rear end steer / rear and step out and reduce the range in dynamic caster change to improve the on center steering feel.
Follow the ZL1. The new ZL1 has solid 25mm front and 28mm rear bars with improved efficiency through revised geometry. The old style sway bars mounted inboard on the rear lower control arm. The new FE4 and Z rear bars replace the endlink with a droplink and mount outboard new the hubs. This is a HUGE improvement in performance on the street, on the strip or road course because it is a more direct action.
Pedders has developed and released a ZL1 sway bar upgrade. Our front is a solid 27mm adjustable and the rear is the new FE4 / ZL1 outboard mounting with droplinks 32mm.
