You know, good MPG is not something that is new. Some of you are likely too young to remember the gas crisis of the '70's, but even back then, the Mustang was rated at 34 miles per gallon on the highway and 24 miles per gallon in the city. Granted, the car was the Mustang II and was ugly as sin, but it did allow Ford to offer a fuel-efficient version of the ponycar and carry them through until the Fox-body was introduced in 1979.
