The paint chips are caused by debris hitting the front bumper, hood, mirrors, etc when the cars moving forward. I don't mean to sound like, well this is what happens. If a rock, small gravel comes in contact with any car while its moving forward more often than not its going to cause a chip or scratch or whatever. It's just kinda dumb that people are blaming GM for the inevitable paint chip. It will happen to any car. Put a bra on your car and stay off the roads if you don't want chips.
