Using some sort of forced induction (Nitrous, turbo, supercharger) will easily put you equal or over a stock SS...the TT setups are proving to be the equivalent of a pretty modded SS.
But I think you are talking N/A setup.
First off...driving your car to its potential...in other words out driving the other guy is a huge part of the equation. Just ask SixJak whom owns a modded manual V6. He sais his brother with an L99 SS was always getting tired of Jak beating him off the line...but i'm sure once the speeds hit somewhere around 60 to 80 the SS would just walk away.
So I think beating the SS in shorter stints from a dig might be the way to go. I don't think you'd ever get him in a roll.
As far as power....doing every V6 bolt on available makes for one hell of a quick V6 but you will still be down 30 or 40 horsepower and much more torque from an L99 SS....even more the LS3. If you went as far as to do cams and ported heads on the V6 in addition to all bolt ons you might get pretty close to L99 level horsepower, but again you are down on Torque.
So anyways, that said there are only a couple more cheap changes you could do to help bump the power in your car...past that the prices jump drastically.
Enjoy your car for what it is (an awesome Camaro). If the guy wasn't such an A hole I'd say go meet up at a safe place and do some quick runs to 60 or 70 and see how it turns out, but if he really is an A hole he will probably jsut give you more crap after that.
