I disagree http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=210400 ...I have a 3 bolt in my car, but it just happens to be what my cam is, didn't really particularly matter to me either way, I just made sure I got the right sprocket for it.

The cam sensor provision on an LS1 or "Gen 3" cam makes no difference in a Gen 4 V8. The LS3 and other Gen 4 V8's cam sensor reads the cam sprocket, not the cam itself. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the cams people put in their gen 4 engines have a gen 3 cam sensor pickup on them...mine does...the cam works fine though because the sensor in my timing cover still see's my sprocket, and I run a proper Gen 4 sprocket.
