I agree with Marvb549, i dont think we are gettng the whole story, so i dont feel sorry for this guy at all, it just doesnt make sense or add up at all...

Also i'm 19,i drive a 06 vette andi have a 2ss on order and hope to get it any day now...most teenagers cannot drive worth a poo and think they are unstoppable, idk how many times ive seen another guy at a redlight and wanted to race me in the vette, kids that just get new cars and dont have to pay for them selves dont care, and even some that do pay for them their selves dont care, but just for you doubters out there that dont believe none of us care...i do care, very dearly about my vette and i will care just as much about my camaro and ive worked my ass off for what i have since i was 9 years old, but point is, not all teenagers are stupid and cant drive and dont care about nothing or anybody...
Exactly. There are plenty of teenagers that can drive a car responsibly, but unfortunately, statistics don't lie, and quite a few of them are equally stupid and decide it's a great idea to drift on open roads, etc. and think they're God's gift to the frickin' world because they know how to drift. If you want to drift, drive 176 MPH, etc your ass had better be on a track, because there are WAY too many variables on the open road to drive like that.

And sure, I'm sure there are a few 16-17 year old kids that could probably outdrive most of the members here on a track, but the difference is the ratio of older members that would be stupid enough to drive like a bat out of hell on the open road is a lot lower than the ratio of younger members.

And I don't particularly think the broad generalizations are appropriate. I'm 20, and I plan to buy a 2SS in a year or two. I do not plan to drive it like an idiot. I drive an '02 V6 fourth gen, and sure, I speed, but when I speed it's 10 or so MPH over the limit. I'm buying an SS because IMO it's a piece of history, and it has a lot of power that I may want ON A TRACK.

Just my $.02.
