the boosted LS motors don't seem to get great gas mileage but why anybody in a 550+hp car would nit pick milage too much is beyond me. then again these cars are boat anchor heavy to boot and geared low 3:73 with .62 6th.
my Z06 is 3160lbs 3.42 with .5 6th. gets about 24-25 freeway. so thinking you are going to up tha power, add 1000lbs, and lower the gearing and end up at 23mpg is kind of dreaming.
20mpg at that HP level is good. it is just not great.
the GT500's 23mph is based on taller gearing 3:31 I assume .5 6th, little bit smaller displacement and a tad lighter.
