That's part of engineering validation for pretty much ANY vehicle (even on down to Cobalt, etc.) because it's a good way to hook up a trailer (usually a U-Haul box) and subject mules to the most strain they can...especially in heat and cold.

Not that something like a Camaro will then ever have a tow rating, etc., but it's a good way to stress them to the max for testing, and make sure they can handle it.
