We do know that the LS2 and LS7 are out but thats from deduction as much as them telling us. I'm not worried about what specific engines the Camaro gets. We don't know how many engines there will be. The info will come out in due time. But, think of it this way: how will knowing right now what the engines will be, be of any use? You can be assured that the most affordable V8 will have more than 350 hp, probably less than 400. Top V8 will be about 75 hp more than base. Thats an estimate, but quite reasonable based on whats out there, or comming soon. We know roughly what to expect for engines, a rough price set, and a rough weight. Knowing those details would be nice, but it wont help GM sell a single car right now. And they can't lose many future sales right now either by not releasing it, see below for an explanation
The point I am making is this: will a 425 hp engine called BOB be a deal breaker if its offered instead of the 430 hp LS3? or would you buy the camaro only if it came with the 361 hp 6.0L L76 but not a 5.7L 350 hp engine that gets 10% better mileage. How about weight? Or price? We cant buy the Camaro yet, and I believe all the 2008 Challengers are spoken for. So there is still very little incentive for GM to release the full specs on the Camaro. But they will have to release it before the 2009 Challengers with the smaller engines come out.
