I find the quality of the CAI system to be high. Installation was fairly easy and straight forward. This being my first ever intake swap it took me about 20-25 minutes. It does help to have the tools ready and at hand.
One tip that I can pass on to first timers is to mock up the system before finally tightening the hose clamps. Doing this, you can situate the MAF sensor angle to its corresponding connector. There isn't much slack so I would recommend re-installing the connector then finish securing the clamps.
Driving the car, I immediately noticed that the motor spools up much faster and smoother. Looking down at the tach and was surprised that it was already passing 3 grand so soon and seemed to want to easily climb higher. I definitely can tell that the motor is breathing better.
Giving the accelerator a little goose and it seems that the top end is extended giving it the impression that the motor magically grew a liter or two.
I can't comment on any MPG issues because I feel that a tank of gas or three is needed to reach an appropriate average. So, time will tell.
The only issue that I encountered was that I lost indexing on the driver's window when I reconnected the negative battery cable after install. This, of course, cannot be directed towards CAI. The kind members of C5 directed me to the information to remedy the situation and once again all was well in the world.
In conclusion, CAI delivered a high quality product that brought positive performance to my Camaro. Recommended.
