I have a theoreticle (spelling?) question....Even if we ended up with the L76, could it be tunes or modified to be as good as the LS3 atleast...like isnt the only realy difference besides the extra .2L the intake manifold and heads? I mean that actually doesn't seem like that big of a deal if I can just make a "hybrid" LS3 (sorta). I am hoping for a 6L tho, and I might even jump on the larger displacement less advanced engine over a probably DI Gen V for the pure sake that its harder to get bigger injectors for direct injection engines, harder to tune, im even assuming that they might even be more accident prone and more expesive to fix as well...

It's certainly possible, though I don't know the word for word specifics.
Back when the LS6 came out, LS1 guys were basically bolting on all those parts and more or less building a do-it-yourself LS6.
Knowing GMs parts bin and the extensive aftermarket for their stuff, I'm sure nobody will be left feeling
too disappointed if they have to 'settle' for the base V8 instead of the fire breathing top dog model.
