Cars modded for show will tend to hold value a little better than cars modded for performance... As was mentioned, the assumption is that a car modded for performance has been flogged on really bad and therefore nothing but trouble will come...

People will pay more for a car that looks good but is close to factory condition due to an assumption that it was shown and not raced...

Look at the numbers in my signature and make a determination on what has been done with it.... And then consider that to date, there have been less than 7 passes down the quarter mile.... But... There is no way in heck anyone would ever give me even half what I have in it.... I would be lucky to get out of the car what I originally paid for the it and that was at least 500 dollars ago...

As for a known builder like Lingenfelter, there are some that will buy the additional barging and performance... But certainly not paying what the original owner paid for the upgrade... Oh it does happen, but not often...
